Thanksgiving is fast approaching! We are starting to get the white T-shirts ready to turn your little angels into Indians for our Thanksgiving dress up day. If you have not sent in your child's large, clean, white, t-shirt, please do so ASAP.
Don't that we are out of school this Wednesday. Enjoy your day off!
Our treasure box is getting low. If you have any small toys (McDonalds toys, etc.) that you would be willing to donate, I would be very appreciative!
I hope that everyone has a great week!

Sight Words

Sight Words

In our journals each day we begin by writing our date on the top and our name below our date. We also practice copying/writing a small sentence and drawing a picture to go with it. The sight words that we have learned so far are: I, see, a, like, my. Practice writing sentences at home and incorporate these new sight words.

We are having such a great time in Kindergarten. Your children are making excellent progress and learning so much everyday. We are studying trees in our Social Science lessons. We are learning that trees have 4 major parts: roots, trunk, branches, and leaves. We have almost makde it through the entire alphabet in our reading lessons. We will be starting letter sounds soon. In math, we are still sorting by color, shape, and size. We have also started recognizing and learning numbers 0-10. We have been playing a game called roll and record and grab and count. You can practice at home by counting and sorting any objects.

Don't forget to send ice cream money each week (preferably by the month $5.00).
Have a great rest of the week and never hesitate to call if you need anything!

Thanks,
Mrs. Wilson

I hope that you all received the book fair form in your child's backpack yesterday. Our book fair officially begins today and will continue until September 14th.

Tuesday is grandparents day for Kindergarten. Please tell the grandparents to get here early. This will be a very crowded event. Our regular lunchtime is at 10:50, but we will begin going to lunch around 10:35. After lunch, the grandparents may take the children to the book fair if they would like to.

Don't forget to turn in the book order that was sent home in Monday folders if you are interested in purchasing any books for home.

Homework is due on Tuesday.

I hope you all have a great LONG weekend and be safe!

Love,
Mrs. Wilson

We are beginning another wonderful week at OES. We still have several friends that are absent but we were back up to 14/19 today. That is a little better.
Reminders:
Please don't forget to send all papers back tomorrow.
Keep the parent/teacher log in the folder.
Homework is always due back on the following Monday unless otherwise noted.
Keep all work papers that your child brings home. These do not have to be returned.
When your child is absent, you MUST send an excuse!
Don't forget to send ice cream money if you have not already paid.

We are beginning small group teacher station this week. Your child will be working with me in a small group setting learning letter names and letter formation. Please continue to practice this at home as well. If your child is still struggling with writing his or her name please continue working on this daily.

As always, I'm here if you need anything! Never hesitate to call.

Fabulous Friday

We have had a lot of our little friends out this week. Hopefully, the weekend will give us some much needed rest and time for healing all of this sickness. I hope we are all back together next week. Monday folders will go home on Monday and there are several papers that you will need to fill out and return.

Grandparents Day-September 8th (There will be a paper in the folder concerning this special day)

Thanks!

Absent

I was not at school today. I have a sick little kindergartener at home. We went to the doctor and got some much needed medicine so hopefully she will be back to normal in a few days. I will be back at school tomorrow morning (Thursday). I apologize for not being at school with your precious little ones.

Please don't forget to send an excuse anytime your child is absent from school. They WILL NOT receive a renaissance card with an unexcused absence.

Mrs. Wilson's Newsletter

August 17, 2009

We have had a wonderful first week of school. Our class is great! We have 19 precious children. I will try to post our weekly newsletter on the website each week along with any other announcements that we need to make during the week.

Your child's first Monday folder is coming home today. Please make sure to look through the folder and take out any of your child's work to keep at home. Please complete the homework included and always return it by the following Monday. Make sure to sign the parent log sheet and return the folder tomorrow (Tuesday).

Your first home study guide is coming home today as well. Please start on today's date. You do not have to worry about the previous dates. You may go back and complete those days if you would like.

If you have not turned in your flower homework please do so as soon as possible.

Please don't forget to send ice cream money with your child if you have not already paid.

Thanks so much for allowing me the opportunity to be your child's teacher!
