Pumpkin

We carved a pumpkin at school on Wednesday.  We estimated the weight of the pumpkin, counted the lines, and the seeds inside.  We got to touch the pumpkin's guts!!!  I don't enjoy sticking my hand in the pumpkin but the kids had a blast!  It was a lot of fun!

Lost Jackets

We have 3 jackets in the room that none of the children want to claim.  I know it has to belong to one of them.  Look at the pictures and respond to the post or send me an email if it belongs to your child.
Thanks!

QR Codes

We are using QR codes as a learning tool at school.  Some of these codes would be beneficial for you to use at home with your children.  I am planning to begin making codes that address specific skills that individual children need to work on.  If you have a smart phone or other device (iPad, iPod, etc.) that has a camera please let me know by responding to this post so I can begin sending some home with your child.  You will need to go to your app store and download a free QR code scanner if you wish to utilize these codes at home.  There are many different free QR scanners in the app store.  Type in "QR Scanner" and choose on that is free.  You will then be ready to scan when the code comes home!  :)

Thanks,
Mrs. Wilson

You may print and sign the following sentence if you'd like:

If you haven't already left for school let your children wear their orange kindergarten shirts. I forgot to remind everyone yesterday. If not, it's no big deal. We will wear them together another day! I'm sorry for the horribly late notice! Mrs. Wilson

Tuesday News

Tuesday Information and Reminders:

Information regarding purchasing yo-yo's are in Monday folders today.

Grandparents day is next Monday, September 10th. Our special lunch time is at 10:20. I failed to put this date on the paper that went home last week so please make a note of the date and time.

We are in need of "treasure box" items if you have any small "McDonald" style toys that you are willing to donate to our classroom.

Ice cream money is now due for the month of September. I have several friends that have not paid for ice cream. Please don't forget if you wish for your child to have ice cream at school. It is $5.00 for the month of September.

Please continue practicing your child's lunch number at home. I will be giving treasure box on Friday to those children who know their number.

I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend! I am looking forward to another great week at school.

Love, Mrs. Wilson

The NED Show

The NED show came to OES today! We learned about making good choices and always trying our best at everything we do. He used a yo-you to make it lots of fun! The school will be selling the yo-yo's next week for the children to purchase if you are interested. The show today was free but the NED show uses the money made from the yo-yo purchases to reach other schools in other locations! The yo-yo's looked pretty neat too! I hope you all have an excellent LONG weekend! Love, Mrs. Wilson

Great First Week

We had an awesome first week of school. We have 19 precious little ones in our class! I know it is going to be a wonderful year. I plan to do all of our weekly updates and reminders through this blog. I would really like all of you to "join" the blog from home so you can receive notifications for updates. Just a few reminders: 1. If you want your child to have ice cream please don't forget to send money. It is $1.50 per week or $5.00 per month. Snack is not needed on ice cream days (Wednesday and Friday) but is allowed if you would like. Snack is needed on all other days of the week. Please only send water to drink and a healthy snack. 2. Monday folders will be coming home tonight. Please check all of the papers in the folder and return anything that needs to be returned. All completed work, art projects, etc. are yours to keep. The folder must always come back the next day. Homework will always be due on Friday unless otherwise noted. If you haven't already turned in the flower homework, please do so as soon as possible. 3. Continue practicing lunch numbers. 4. Please call or email me if you ever have any questions or concerns. Thank you for what I know is going to be a great year! Mrs. Wilson
