Tuesday

Your babies are becoming pros at school! We are learning the rules and classroom expectations so well. Keep looking for those stamps on hands every afternoon. In case you forget: Super star will be a green super star stamp, Green light will be a green flower stamp, yellow light will be a yellow train stamp, and red light will be a red ladybug stamp.
We painted a yellow jacket last week. They look so cute hanging in our classroom. We also made a bucket to hang up in the hallway to remind each of us to strive to be "bucket fillers". I hope you are implementing this at home as well. I have been talking to my four year old son about being a bucket filler. It is really a great concept to teach our children!
Please continue checking your child's Monday folder each week. They will bring home any work they may have done during the week as well as important papers from the school, and homework. We do A LOT of hands on activities in kindergarten so don't be surprised if your child brings home very few "worksheets".
We are in need of treasure box items at school. These can be any small toy from the dollar tree, McDonalds, etc.
I will be sending home notes within the next few weeks to begin scheduling our first conference of the school year.
If you have not purchased a T-Shirt please send your $7.00 in ASAP. We will be ordering the shirts next week and will not be able to order more.
Thanks for all you do to help me everyday!

Monday Folders

Can you believe one whole week of Kindergarten is already behind us?! We had a great week. All of the children have seemed to settle in well and are making lots of new friends.
I hope you all got your Monday folders today. I found two papers in the classroom on the floor today after the children left. If anyone was missing their homework page and skills page, let me know.
I hope you are all utilizing the classroom blog. Please feel free to post comments and communicate with one another on here as well. You can even let the children post comments to me and their friends. I believe you will have to create a google account to post comments and join the blog site. You can create a free google account at www.google.com. Click on "gmail" at the top, then click on "create an account". It is quick and free.
We painted today at school! The children were so excited. The paint was washable so it should wash out well!
We have introduced the letters and sounds for Aa-Dd so far. We have also introduced the words "I" and "am". Practice these letters and words as well as the skills that came home in the Monday folders today at home.
Thanks for all you do!

Day 2

We had another great day today. We went to music today. They had a great time. Ask your children if they remember their music teachers name?
Please don't forget to send the transportation necklace back each day. A few of the traffic lights weren't dry today so we will be sending them home tomorrow.
If you have any questions or concerns please never hesitate to call!

Please respond to this post if you are receiving the newsletters online. I need to know who is not reading the posts online so I can send home paper reminders when necessary. Thanks again!

2010-2011 School Year-First Day

Wow! We had an excellent first day of school! All of your children had a super day! We did lots of fun things today.
We learned that we must all strive to be "bucket fillers" not "bucket dippers". Please remember to utilize your bucket at home as well. Find something fun to fill your child's bucket with at home when he/she makes good choices. We are using plastic balls to fill our bucket at school. If we fill our bucket, each month we will earn a special prize!
We read about Chester the raccoon in The Kissing Hand. Each child made their own handprint and brought them home to share with you!
We also learned about the traffic light. We decided that we all want to stay on the super star bucket everyday! They will be bringing home a traffic light tomorrow that they made! This will be a good visual to discuss expectations for school and home.
Thank you again for sharing your precious babies with me this year! I am so excited about this year and being your child's teacher!
